Dare to live a fantastic experience in one of the most incredible locations in the Mayan Riviera that begins in the moment you arrive at the Natural Reserve. At your arrival to the parking lot you will be transferred in the back of all-terrain Mercedez Benz Unimog´s to the Natural Reserve during approximately 15 minutes through the jungle in a bumpy rough road. There, you will be greeted by our highly trained guides and equipped like a professional dive master. You will put on a wetsuit, helmet with a special lamp and wet shoes.

At Rio Secreto, you will be guided to experience the silence of a world below, walking and swimming for an hour and a half through the crystalline water museum. Filled with a kaleidoscope of speleothems, walk an easy 600 meter route amidst the thousands of stalactites and stalagmites found in this protected natural reserve. After the tour, you will be provided with an excellent lunch of light foods and have a chance to relax at this great natural habitat.

This tour is not available for people with severe physical handicaps, heart diseases, pregnant women or for people under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The maximum weight allowed is 250 lb/ 120 kg

What to Wear

For this expedition bring comfortable clothing and walking shoes, (no flip-flops), short-sleeved T-shirt is recommended, bathing suit on, additional set of dry cloths and credit card or cash for tips, photos, videos, crafts and souvenirs.

Tour Notes

• Due to the extreme care we take towards the environment, we only allow the use of biodegradable sun lotion and insect repellents.
• Children minimum age is 6 years old
• Small groups of 8 participants as maximum
• The following items are not allowed inside the underground river: caps, sunglasses, Flip-flops, watches, jewelry, photo or video cameras (nor water proof), band-aids, any objects in swimsuits pockets or any other type of bag
